My husband Larry, is on another adventure and I am home helping others heal. Although, I practice self care most days, with rare moments like whole a weekend, I get to take the practice deeper without distractions. I have the time to focus solely on me. I get to do what I want when I want. So, what will I do with this gift presented in my lap?
What would you do with the gift of time? Learning what fills you up helps you help those who need or want you. Time is a hot commodity with all the demands of everyday life, kids, work, and your partner. If you are on your last leg of energy how will you help someone else? When your cup runneth over, you don’t need to protect yourself. Listen to what Oprah has to say about taking care of yourself.
Here are just some ideas to fill yourself up:
- Meditate (even for just 5 minutes or even less)
- Take a walk by yourself or with the dog (for many, and studies supports this, nature relaxes and replenishes you)
- Find a “Your” place at work to take a few private moments or close your office door
- Relax in a bubble bath
- Escape in a book or movie
- Listen to music
I know this is a huge challenge if you’re a Mom with young children, . Sometimes kids take you to the brink, that even going to the bathroom is a something you can’t do by yourself. Keeping this in mind, it’s crucial to plan and organize. Stealing moments will go a long way to fill yourself up.
Honor what you need
Cheers
